![]() Microbial diversity and community structure were distinctly different between Amblystegiaceae and Sphagnum peatlands, and within each of these two peatland types moss taxon explained the largest part of microbial community variation. ![]() Through a large-scale molecular and biogeochemical study spanning Arctic, sub-Arctic and temperate regions we assessed how the endo- and epiphytic microbial communities of natural northern peatland mosses relate to peatland type ( Sphagnum and Amblystegiaceae), location, moss taxa and abiotic environmental variables. How the different plants and abiotic environmental conditions provided in Amblystegiaceae and Sphagnum peat shape the respective moss associated microbial communities is unknown. Perfectly suitable as a wet box are e.g.Northern peatlands typically develop through succession from fens dominated by the moss family Amblystegiaceae to bogs dominated by the moss genus Sphagnum. This is also used by some genera to deposit eggs. It facilitates the moulting process of the animals and provides cooling on hot days, raises hydration through the skin while also improving the skin environment and as a result prevents skin diseases. Use your hand to briefly press out the amount required.Ī wet-box offers the inhabitants the possibility of replenishing moisture. After a short time the moss begins to swell to its fullest volume. Place the Sphagnum-Moss tile in a bucket and add at least 1.5 liters of tepid water. also suitable as a nutritient basis for plants (e.g.: orchids). ![]()
